Adama Hastar Herbicide For Maize

Overview

Hastar is a broad-spectrum post emergence Corn herbicide which is used along with surfactant for the control of grassy and broad leaf weeds. Hastar belongs to Triketones group of herbicides, and it has Tembotrione as active ingredient with suspension concentrate (SC) formulation. Hastar provides excellent bleaching effect on weeds.

Mode of Action

Hastar has unique mode of action which inhibits the activity of the 4 hydroxy-phenyl-pyruvate dexoygenase (4 HPPD) enzyme. The formation of carotenoid (plant pigments) is disrupted by the blockage of the enzyme. Depletion of carotenoids deprives chlorophyll where photosynthesis takes place of its protection against an overdose of light and this results in chlorophyll bleaching. Hastar symptoms on weeds visible very fast and weeds get killed completely with in few days of application.
